Projects

Club Culture

My latest project saw me visiting nine Working Men’s and Social Clubs in Northumberland. The resulting portraits give a glimpse into spaces of warmth and community that are dying off by the month – but might be needed now more than ever.

I’ve captured images of stalwarts and singers, drinkers and dogs, newbies and committee members – and a surprisingly high number of Alans.

I’m currently expanding the project, visiting clubs across Cumbria.

Home

As someone from outside the region who has made Allendale their Home, I set out to explore my surroundings by creating portraits of the eccentric and eclectic people of the Allen valleys.

Home Again

After the success of the initial project, I returned to the people of Allendale to capture more portraits.

You, Me and Autism

As a photographer with autism, I wanted to work on a project that would represent autistic people from around the North East.

You, Me and Autism Too

I returned to the subject matter of You, Me and Autism, travelling around the country to capture portraits of famous and successful autistic people.

Behind the Words

I was commissioned by Apple and Snakes in 2022 to create portraits of poets, in celebration of the organisation’s 40th anniversary.

Other Commissions

I’ve been lucky enough to take on a number of commissions over the years, including work for Wellcome Trust, Nottingham City Arts and Nine Arches Press.
